Project # 8 - Internet of Hospital Things (IoHT): Communicating to Facilitate Healing REU student: Stefanie Mutter Graduate mentors: Myungho Lee, Kangsoo Kim Faculty mentor(s): Dr. Gerd Bruder, Dr. Greg Welch Week 7 (June 25 – June 30, 2018) Accomplishments: Ordered bedframe, mattress, sheets, pillow, etc. off of Amazon Edited 950 lines of code to configure UI Buttons Set up lab & became more familiar with Meta2 headset Met with Dr. Bruder to discuss details of study – settled on ~30 participants in 3 days Began making pre-/post-study questionnaires for the participants – demographics, etc. Problem & Solutions: Time is running out!! User study must be conducted in the next few days if it’s going to happen at all 4th of July is next week so participants won’t want to be in the study on that day, leaving Thurs/Fri as the only days available to run the study Plans for next week: Recruit participants Perform a “dry run” of study with grad students or other people in the lab Hopefully conduct study with real participants NSF REU Research Experience on Internet of Things 2018
