Project # 8 - Internet of Hospital Things (IoHT): Communicating to Facilitate Healing REU student: Stefanie Mutter Graduate mentors: Myungho Lee, Kangsoo Kim Faculty mentor(s): Dr. Gerd Bruder, Dr. Greg Welch Week 6 (June 18 – June 23, 2018) Accomplishments: Made prompt for participants to read off of & follow instructions from during the experiment (example on slide 2) Programmed most of experiment in Unity, including GUI buttons and projected environment (example on slide 3) Problem & Solutions: UCF Nursing won’t lend a hospital bed & realistic beds are too expensive to buy. Big Experiment-Altering Decisions HoloLens vs Meta2 Smaller field of view with HoloLens, but Meta2 can’t be transported anywhere UCF Nursing vs. HuSIS Animations with GUI buttons don’t play but audio does Time is running out to conduct user study Plans for next week: Begin recruiting participants? Test Unity code with headset (either HoloLens or Meta2) NSF REU Research Experience on Internet of Things 2018
