Quick overview with voice over All About Exhibition This is the powerpoint that I sent out earlier in the year. It is primarily intended for parents. I’ve included it in case your parents want a refresher. Note: this powerpoint has logistics information from a previous year. Don’t get confused.

Why exhibition? Exhibition is an opportunity to share the work you have done and what you have learned with your project.

Exhibition attire We dress to be taken seriously.

This is Your exhibition Your parents will visit you during your presentation time and then move to visit other exhibits. Ethel and I will be with you, if you need any help or support.

Setting up your display You will come in with your parent(s) during the day (either Thursday or Friday) to set up your display. You can come in anytime between 9-3:15. This will give you a chance to feel comfortable in the room (which will look different than usual) and make sure your display is complete and ready for action.

Presentation schedule Time Thursday Friday 5:00-5:30   (I will bring these students in through the chalkboard door at 4:50, to be ready for visitors) Fox Jordyn Joshua Kai Kailer Addie Arthur Carina Luke Theo 5:30-6:00 Landon Phoenix Ravyn Ryder Samara Farheen Isabella Lily Naiah Sophie Zayan 6:00-6:30 All Adventurers visit other classrooms. They can do a second presentation shift if they want to. Everyone attends Exhibition from 5:00-6:30. You will each be with your project for a 30 minute shift. When it is not your shift, you will visit the exhibits of other students and classes with your family. Both the Collaborative and Hybrid classrooms will have exhibits to see.

Exhibition only Exhibition is not a play time. The outside toys and balls will be put away to make this easier. We spend out time presenting and visiting other exhibits.

We give exhibition 100% of our attention! Please remind your family to use their phones for photos. I would love to have digital copies of your pics! If you or your family want to have a non-exhibition conversation with a friend or need to take a call, please do it outside and away from exhibit areas. When we are in Exhibition spaces, we give our full attention to the presenters.

Making visitors feel welcome Stand tall Make eye contact Smile Have energy Shake hands Introduce yourself Start talking about your project Reminder: You are not giving a speech. You are starting a conversation about your project.

With guests Maintain normal eye contact. Make sure your body language gives the message that you are interested in your guest and your conversation. Remember not to lean on your display area. Use your visuals. Speak clearly and loud enough to be heard. LISTEN to your guest.

Guests will ask questions Remember that visitors are not trying to trick you. They are on your side. Take your time and think before answering. Things you can say if you are not sure how to answer: *Can you ask that again in a different way? *That’s an interesting question. I’m not sure. *I don’t know. *Hmm…I hadn’t thought about that. I’m going to research that question.

Cleaning up and packing up At 6:30, you will work with your family to clean up your area, pack up your project display and take it to your car. Remember to leave your presenter name badge with me
