Word of the Week: passive

“Passive” used in a sentence Someone with his passive, gentle nature would never initiate a fist fight. I've been passive for far too long, and now it's time I stood up for myself. He's usually a passive person, but once he hits the basketball court, an aggressive side emerges. During the Holocaust, the bystanders passively let the Nazis murder the Jews.
