Square Roots have 2 solutions...Whaaaaattt? A number that produces a specified quantity when multiplied by itself:  Square numbers have two of the SAME factors. The square root of 36 could be 6 or -6. 6 x 6= 36 -6 x -6 = 36

If there is no sign in front of the radical, list the positive root.

If there is a +/- sign in front of the radical, list BOTH square roots.

If there is a - sign in front of the radical, list the negative square root.

Fractions: If there is a fraction under the radical, take the square root of the numerator AND the denominator
