WHAT IS STREET WATCH?? A scheme that is run BY the community FOR the community …. Police ARE the public, the public ARE the police Involves voluntary residents wearing high visibility jackets and walking/patrolling the roads and streets of their choice in pairs. It enables the residents to be seen and to engage in their local community. This is all about being part of the community, providing a presence and to be a point of contact for the residents.

How it works Maximum 15 members per scheme Patrol in pairs Patrols booked on website Street Watch hi-visibility jackets Members insurance Mobile Phone Policies and Guidance including a Code of Conduct Engagement with Police and others Support Network

How do I get this started ? Hold a meeting with your NHW co-ordinators/ward panel/ residents Identify volunteers PNC checks Induction OUT YOU GO!!
