Flight attendants’ duty and passengers It’s not easy for hundreds of people to relax when they’re crammed inside a small place such as an airplane cabin. Some passengers take things in stride. Others, however, are less cooperative. They might unfasten their seat belts while the fasten-seat-belt sign is still on, recline their seats back or get up during take-off, or smoke in the lavatory. They might even conduct illegal activities onboard. Dealing with passengers of all kinds is the flight attendants’ duty. Sometimes, a flight attendant might even have to use arms and arrest passengers that make too much trouble.
