ARE YOU HAPPY?

OR… ARE YOU TACKY?

LIVING ON THE EDGE...WITH DEVICES Technology is a RESOURCE much like a textbook, to promote & extend student learning Technology should be ADAPTED to our specific needs as teachers and learners Technology should be INTEGRATED into your classroom, not as a separate subject Technology does NOT take time away from core subjects Just as you learn ins & outs of a new textbook, so must you learn the ins & outs of new apps, etc...COLLABORATE/SHARE KNOWLEDGE WITH YOUR COLLEAGUES

GENERAL DEVICE RULES No gum, food, or drinks allowed when device is in use Avoid activities unrelated to your class, but not limited to completing assignments for other classes checking email during class communication unrelated to in-class activities surfing the web or visiting websites unrelated to class playing games, listening to music or watching videos Don’t distract others turn your sound OFF NO text messages during class be aware of potentially distracting typing or clicking

GENERAL DEVICE RULES Follow all “device prohibited” times special events or guest speakers exams/quizzes any other time designated by teacher Be sensitive to and respect privacy concerns of others Respect the request of a classmate or teacher to cease the use of any and all electronic/wireless devices

BE PREPARED! IT HAPPENS!

HAVE A TREMENDOUS YEAR!
