Presentation transcript:

Huck Finn Chapters 28-30

1. Once Huck confides in Mary Jane, why doesn’t he want her to go down to breakfast as usual? Her face would give away that she knows the truth; she couldn’t keep it quiet/secret.

2. At the end of chapter 28, what dramatic twist happens? The real Wilks brothers show up and the crowd is hooting and hollering about the drama of it all.

3. Why can’t the new arrivals match the handwriting from the letters they’ve sent from England? Because the younger Wilks brother, William, does all of the handwriting for them both, but he’s broken his arm/hand and can’t write right now.

4. What does the King say is tattooed on Peter Wilks’ chest? A small thin blue arrow.

5. Now that they’ve all escaped the Wilks adventure, which character says he’s the one who stole and hid the gold, even though he didn’t really. The King says this because the Duke will kill him if he doesn’t confess.

6. After the King and the Duke fight about the gold and the King nearly gets killed, what do they do? Get drunk, make up as friends, and fall asleep in each other’s arms.
