School Lunches

Preparing for School • Talk to your child positively about school • Discuss the school day – what to expect • Encourage independence – changing clothes, shoes and coats, packing bags, toilet, cutlery, tidying up • Practise turn taking, sharing, focussing on a game or task • Literacy and Numeracy - share books, rhymes, numbers and letters in the environment • Visit P1 class blog and P1 video • Name tags on all clothing and shoes

First Days – Timetable First day of school Wednesday 15th August 2018 9.10am P1d, P1e entry via P1 doors. Accompany children to classes. Leave class by 9.20 via main entrance. 9.20am P1a, P1b, P1c Accompany children to classes. Leave class by 9.30 via main entrance. End of day first week Rest of school year 2.50pm 3.10pm Pupils are dismissed by class teacher. Please stand clear of the entrance and wave to your child so that the teacher can see who is collecting them. P1 doors. All term days thereafter 8.50 – 9.00 am Pupils say goodbye to parent/care and line up at cones in playground. (Pupils who arrive on school buses will be supervised from the bus to the P1 doors.) P1 playground. P1 lunch experience Date tbc Parents join P1 pupils for lunch Mensa. P1 Curriculum Event Parents/ carers invited to a short workshop on P1 literacy and numeracy. You will also have the opportunity to look at resources used in classes. P1 classrooms.
