John 10:10 (NKJV) 10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

Fun In The Son Our lesson this morning centered around our VBS theme of “Fun In The Son” That theme goes hand in hand with our theme for the congregation for this year, “The Abundant Life”

Fun In The Son This morning we looked at 3 things that we can do to help us live life to its fullest in Christ We looked to King Josiah to help us illustrate those points Nehemiah & the COI can also serve as an example of this

Fun In The Son 1. Read the Instructions In the book of Nehemiah, the COI are returning from Babylonian exile They come back to Jerusalem to rebuild the wall However, Israel needs to build itself and to be restored back to God

Fun In The Son 1. Read the Instructions In Nehemiah 8, the people all gathered and Ezra read the law (vs. 1-8) The people needed to hear the law in order to understand and know it The same is true for us today

Fun In The Son 2. Follow the Instructions After the law was read, the people understood what they needed to do (v. 12) They then began to follow it’s instructions (vs. 14-18) When we read God’s word, we must then follow it

Fun In The Son 3. Receive the Benefits Verse 13 tells us that there was great gladness as a result of reading and following This gladness was not seen while in captivity It’s a blessing that can only come from obedience

Fun In The Son 3. Receive the Benefits Certainly God would bless them as well We see that promise given in II Chronicles 7:14… We too can enjoy a great gladness when we do these things
