Issues in the Management and Implementation of the RCA Programme - the IAEA Perspective The Secretariat is currently facing the following challenges: Secretariat Staff is currently overloaded by RCA and TC related tasks; No available TC budget for the recruitment of additional support; therefore Quality and efficiency of the management and implementation of the RCA Programme is likely sufferred
Issues in the Management and Implementation of the RCA Programme - the IAEA Perspective Current available staff dedicated to the RCA Programme includes: One RCA Focal Person who also functions as PMO for RCA projects as well as national profiles of four additional Member States; and One Project Assistant for the RCA who also functions as Project Assistant to the Section Head TCAP1
Issues in the Management and Implementation of the RCA Programme - the IAEA Perspective RCA related tasks include: Preparation of background documents for Policy Meetings; Preparation of reports for Policy Meetings;
Issues in the Management and Implementation of the RCA Programme - the IAEA Perspective RCA related tasks include: Preparation of RCA Annual Reports; Management of the RCA Programme /projects (formulation, design, implementation, monitoring, reporting, and assessment);
Issues in the Management and Implementation of the RCA Programme - the IAEA Perspective RCA related tasks include: Organization of RCA-related meetings conducted at IAEA Headquarters; and Other tasks related to the management and implementation of the RCA from the IAEA.
Recommendations - the IAEA Perspective In order to address the shortage in staff dedicated to the RCA and improve the Secretariat's support to the RCA, NRs are requested to: Consider sending a cost-free expert to support in RCA related work; and Consult with their respective country to provide EBT under project RAS0074 to be utilized for the recruitment of additional staff to support the Secretariat in RCA related works.
