Technically, no – library resources are actually very expensive! Are these resources really free? Technically, no – library resources are actually very expensive! Poudre River Public Library District budget (2016): ~$1 million Colorado State University Libraries budget (2015): ~$8 million Note: These budgets include both the purchase of hard-copy print materials as well as the cost to purchase or lease access to electronic resources, including e-books.

But . . . These resources are FREE to YOU! 2006: Larimer County residents overwhelmingly voted to support the establishment and funding of the Poudre River Public Library District (PRPLD) The district was designed to create a stable source of funding for public libraries through a 3-mill property tax increase, which, in 2006, was approximately $3.98 per month on a $200,000 home

CSU Libraries & PRPLD Partnership 2013: the CSU Libraries and PRPLD partnered to provide physical PRPLD library cards to CSU affiliates at Morgan Library 2014: CSU and PRPLD announced that CSU RamCards can double as PRPLD library cards by simply opting-in via RamWeb (we’ll show you how in a moment!) The CSU Libraries and PRPLD also partner on a number of other initiatives, such as author events

Easy opt-in via RamWeb From the RamWeb website (ramweb.colostate.edu), login with your eID and password Then, click on “Menu” in the upper right-hand corner of the main page Select “Records,” then “Manage Student Record” (even if you are NOT a student!) Then, click on “Library Options” to opt-in by checking the box and hitting “Submit”
