All candidates must have… Current Physical (must be on the FBISD form) Rank One electronic forms signed www.fortbendisd.com Click on “Athletics” Click on “Electronic Forms” Sign BOTH forms online T1 & T2 Grades (Printed with ID & full name clearly shown) Travis Cheer Program Application on Page 5 & 6 (Administrative Seal of Approval) If you currently have a physical via cheer/any sport in Rank One, regardless of when you obtained it, you are clear for tryouts. If you do NOT currently have a physical in Rank One, you must obtain one between February 1st and February 27th. No earlier and no later. Any physical obtained outside of that window is INVALID for tryouts. *DUE: FRIDAY, FEB 22nd IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE!*

Tryout Clinic February 26th- 27th 5:00 to 6:30 pm Clinic and Mock tryouts will be held in the THS Gym Mock Tryouts February 28th 5:00 to 6:30 pm Closed session- Only candidates & those conducing the clinic will be allowed. Cheerleader candidates will learn a cheer and dance from the current 2019 graduating seniors. Material learned during clinic will be performed at Mock Tryouts & Tryouts. Wear a solid white t-shirt, sports bra, black shorts, plain white socks & tennis/cheer shoes. Must have your hair in a neat ponytail. No bow. No jewelry! Candidates who are current cheerleaders will not demonstrate or be recognized in any fashion as current cheerleaders

Tryout March 6th 4:30-6:00 pm Tryouts at Wheeler Field House (Home side) Check in begins at 3:45 pm. Arrive no later than 4:00 pm Enter through outside entrance- Home Locker Room. Do not enter through the front entrance Everyone MUST stay until ALL tryouts are completed incase we have call backs. Tryouts are closed to the public. Wear a solid white t-shirt and solid back shorts ONLY, no jewelry! There will be mats in the locker room to warm up tumbling Candidates who are current cheerleaders will not demonstrate or be recognized in any fashion as current cheerleaders Teams will be announced Friday, March 8th at 4:00 pm on the front doors of Travis High School If you make the squad…Mandatory Cheerleader & parent meeting on March 20th at 6:00 pm at THS

Fort Bend ISD hires outside judges to judge tryouts. Please Note: Squads are chosen by UCA judges. The school coaches have absolutely no contact with the judges at any time and have no say in the results.

Team Make Up 12 Varsity 12 Junior Varsity Sophomores – Seniors ONLY Freshman- Juniors ONLY Seniors can join JV Team if they sign Senior Cheerleader Intent form. This will be done at Mock Tryouts

Sequence of Events After entering the Gym, each candidate will: 1. Walk out to the cone. 2. Wait for the judges to say “GO”. 3. Spirit in to the center of the mat. 4. Do three jumps 5. Perform a cheer. 6. Walk to opposite end of the mat and tumble in the direction of the door where they entered. 7. Exit the Gym. *After three candidates have performed their individual routine, that group will re-enter the gym and demonstrate their dance as a group.

FBISD Tryout Score Sheet FBISD Tiebreaker Sheet If you have any questions regarding your scores, email FBISD Athletic office at the following email address:  FBISD.Athletics@fortbendisd.com. Once the address is verified for the particular student, a copy of the score sheet will be sent by mail.

Method of selection In a case of an accident… Cheerleader candidates will be allowed to provide video for judges’ evaluation if they are unable to perform all required activities due to injury. Physician letter, must complete all aspects of the program not restricted by the injury and identify in the physicians letter Video must not show candidates as current cheerleader in any way Video must be certified to have been created within the past 12 months (Located FBISD Cheer Handbook - Page 4 #7)

Important dates ***DO NOT schedule any events/plan on leaving town on any of these dates, practices are MANDATORY you will receive demerits otherwise*** Please Note: Every effort is made to give notice of events in advance. Some events may have to be added/changed after the calendar has been made. Participation in other activities at school might conflict with cheerleading. CHEERLEADING RESPONSIBILITIES MUST BE YOUR FIRST PRIORITY. Cheer squads do not have substitutes for missing team members, so choose your activities wisely. Unexcused absences from cheer responsibilities will result in consequences such as demerits, suspension and/or dismissal.

Cheer Payments Camp Expenses UCA Camp –Hilton Rockwall Dallas Lakefront, Rockwall, TX= $500 Clothing and Accessories Last year’s Estimated cost for a NEW cheerleader= $1,600 Last year’s Estimated cost for a RETURNING cheerleader= $900 Gym rentals/ Choreography FUNDING A. DISTRICT FUNDING WILL INCLUDE: 1. Items determined by the Cheer Coach with approval from District Athletic Office. B. INDIVIDUAL FUNDING WILL INCLUDE: 1. Camp expenses (including travel) 2. Clothing and Accessories, not purchased with district funds. Itemized estimate will be provided. 3. Gym rentals/Choreography

Parent Meetings & Payment Dates Monday, April 8th, starts @ 6:00pm (Parents only) 1st Payment DUE $500 (non-negotiable- camp fees) Uniform Fitting starts at 2:45 pm- Varsity goes first then JV Monday, April 29th @ 6:00pm (Parents only) 2nd payment DUE! $500 Sign up for a parent volunteer committee Monday, May 20th @ 6:00pm (Parents only) 3rd payment/ remaining balance due!
