Buccaneers SAIL Safe Accountable In Control Lead by Example

Reasons to not post or share inappropriate pictures on Social Media. Today’s topic… Reasons to not post or share inappropriate pictures on Social Media. Be a Prude, stop posting nudes!

There are long term consequences of posting or sharing nudes. Sadly, there are many teens who choose to post nude pics. But, fortunately, not everyone does.

11 Reasons to NOT share inappropriate pics, no matter how many times you are asked… 1. Your private parts are just that, private. DUH! 2. You care about your future. Do you want your future boss to know about the mistakes you made in Middle School?

3. IT’S ABOUT RESPECT. Because you have it for yourself, and they’d better have it for you, too. If they do, they won’t ask. 4. CHANCES ARE, YOU WILL BREAK UP. This is middle school so you likely have not met your forever person! Do you want your future ex to have a say over your private life?

5. HIDING YOUR FACE DOESN’T MAKE YOU ANONYMOUS 5. HIDING YOUR FACE DOESN’T MAKE YOU ANONYMOUS. Hate to break it to you, but just because you strategically hide your face doesn’t mean no one will be able to recognize you. Plus, if the person you send it to is willing to share the pic, they will definitely tell who you are! 6. THEY CAN’T BE UNSEEN. Just like a tattoo, you can try to cover it up, but it never really goes away. You know how people gossip!

7. YOU DON’T WANT TO. You’re only doing it for others, and that’s the wrong reason to do anything. If you have to think twice about something you probably shouldn’t be doing it. 8.  Chances are, the pics will get SHOWn to others. Lots of kid’s phones are checked by their parents. Do you want your nudes to be seen by parents? Or Principals? Trust us, WE DON’T WANT TO SEE THEM!

9. EVEN SNAPCHAT CAN’T BE TRUSTED. Nothing is safe 9. EVEN SNAPCHAT CAN’T BE TRUSTED. Nothing is safe. You thought you could Snapchat safely, but guess what – there’s an app you can use to save them now. Plus, screenshots! 10. THE INTERNET IS A DANGEROUS PLACE. You could be going viral right now and not even know it. You think all those PEOPLE posted pictures of themselves? Okay, maybe some…

11. YOU’RE EXPLOITING YOURSELF. End of story 11. YOU’RE EXPLOITING YOURSELF. End of story. You’re worth more than your naked body.

Turn on your sound and click on the video.

How do you stop the problem? NEVER post anything inappropriate. If you see or receive a nude, DELETE don’t save or RESEND! Tell your friends to STOP IT! Tell an adult; kids can’t solve everything on their own. Remember that you are important! What ideas do you have?
