In her chilling memoir, Frozen (2013), Queen Elsa of Arendelle suggests that even though her instinct was to ice-solate herself to protect those she loved from her powers, love is the most powerful force of all. She makes her claim by describing the pain she felt as a child when accidentally harming her sister, Anna, running away from her duties as queen when she could not control her ice powers, and pushing away her sister and friends when they sought after her to help.

The Glass Castle Correct Order: In her poignant memoir The Glass Castle (2005) Jeannette Walls suggests that even though her upbringing was unstable at best, the end result was hopeful. She makes her claim by describing in great detail the poverty in which she lived, the lies from which she ran, the other kids from whom she hid, and the parents on whom she relied.

Walls reaches out to an empathetic audience, one who understands the complex mix of a family who somehow withstands the fierce storms of living together but still learns to forgive and love in spite of the judgment of others and even of themselves.
