ACTIVE versus PASSIVE voice “Voice” depends on whether the SUBJECT or VERB in a sentence comes first. “Voice” changes the strength of a sentence.

the SUBJECT is the person/thing that is DOING the action in the sentence Challenge: Circle the subject in each sentence on your paper.

ACTIVE voice in ACTIVE voice, the subject arrives before the verb and “actively” does the action. Challenge: Which sentence is NOT active?
