Canine and Feline Clinical Management. Book: Common diseases of companion animals (Chapters will be outlined in PowerPoints)

Grading: based off weighted point system Includes: Quizzes, test, assignments, and professionalism There will NOT be unannounced pop quizzes (Unless you give me a reason) Pop quizzes can not be made up if missed

Missed scheduled tests will be made up either during the midterm or final exam. Makeup tests will be worth a maximum of 70% Missed quizzes can NOT be made up Late classwork/homework will not be accepted and will not be made up. Homework due at start of class

Advisement available by appointment(Tuesday-Thursday) Tutoring available. See Ms. Melanie for details Do not wait to get help. If you struggled last term, you should start thinking about getting into the tutoring program now.

No sleeping: 5-10 professional points deducted No cell phones/Smart watches Phones can be used for power points but ask me first Absolutely no background talk TREAT OTHERS WITH RESPECT!! Course outline: Weeks 1-2: Pathology of infectious diseases Week 3: Digestive System  Weeks 4: Musculoskeletal System  Weeks 5: Neurology  Week 6: Diseases of the Eye  Week 7-8: Cardiovascular System  Mid-Term Exam

Second Term  Week 9: Dermatological System  Weeks 10: Reproductive System  Week 11-12: Renal System  Week 13-14: Endocrine Diseases Week 15: Toxicology/Emergency Critical Care  Week 16: Pathology of Disease/Necropsy Perform a necropsy Complete a necropsy report *Necropsy lab is TBA  Week 16: FINAL EXAM – will be comprehensive over 16 weeks on the last day of the term

4 absences per term are allowed without grade deductions Leaving class for greater than 15 minutes results in an absence 3 tardies = 1 absence Greater than 15 minutes tardy = absence Excused absences only apply if absent 3 or more consecutive days and present approved documentation. All other absences will be factored as one of the allowable for the semester.

Time in ICU: As an ICU technician you are challenged everyday! You will have to make decisions quickly and at times, it can be very stressful and overwhelming. That being said, it can also be an amazing experience!
