SCHEDULING 2019 nicole

2019 Scheduling Instructions   Go to the Seaholm High School website to access the 2019-20 Course Catalog. Review the course descriptions and discuss your preferences with your parents. Nicole Today we are “kicking off” the 2019-2020 scheduling process. The new course catalog is now available on the Seaholm website. – CLICK THE LINK When considering a course, please review the course descriptions and discuss with your parents.

2019 Scheduling FORMS Complete the Student Course Selection Form and have it signed by your teachers and parent/guardian. Complete the Advanced Placement Policy (if applicable) and have it signed by your teachers and parent/guardian If you need a copy of the Scheduling Form and/or Advanced Placement Form, please go to our Counseling Department webpage Kristy FOR GRADES 10 & 11 - Most of you are familiar w/the scheduling form (the grade-level example will be displayed). Review the scheduling form – new counselor breakdown, highlight the teacher recommendation requirement. Remind the student their decisions should be: intention, and goal-driven (college and career) Balance: sports, work, homework and other personal commitments (especially with the juniors - remind them about college apps etc...) the Seaholm Building Schedule is created and staffing is determined based on student choices. Then, start the curricular areas: English (I will click on the English Dept Chart) – review options per grade level Social Studies Math Science World Language REFER TO ARROW – go through the AP Policy These forms are located on the Counseling website too.

2019 SCHEDULING INSTRUCTIONS Talk with your teachers and parents about course options for next year. Get your teacher’s approval for core area classes and Advanced Placement classes in elective areas. Please have them sign the Scheduling Form. Attend your scheduling appointment with your counselor. Kristy EMPHASIZE – THERE IS NO NEED FOR A PRE-MEETING FOR THE MEETING. ALSO, WHATEVER THE STUDENT ENTERS IN POWERSCHOOL IS NOT PERMANENT. WE WILL DISCUSS THE COURSE SELECTIONS DURING OUR INDIV. MEETINGS AND CAN CHANGE IF NEEDED. Your parents are welcome to join us during your allotted slot time. Parchment account – also, at your individual scheduling meeting – your counselor will be giving you information for creating a Parchment account. Parchment.com. This online service is an e-transcript provider for schools in the State of Michigan.  will allow each student to access their own transcripts. Counselors will be providing an account number to freshmen and sophomore students through which you may request copies of transcripts throughout the year. This might be helpful for a number of situations including self review and GPA monitoring, community service/volunteering, scholarships pursuits, summer camps, athletics, and insurance discounts.   Until the beginning of senior year of high school, transcripts should not be requested for potential college entrance. If you lose the scheduling form or delete the remind message, go to our counseling website for this information.
