Welcome to CC Alg II Mary Prevost
Course Expectations: Are posted on-line
ALGEBRA II SUMMARY OF THE YEAR Building on their work with linear, quadratic, and exponential functions, students extend their repertoire of functions to include polynomial, rational, and radical functions. Student explore the basics of statistics and inference.
Students work closely with the expressions that define the functions and continue to expand and hone their abilities to model situations and to solve equations, including solving quadratic equations over the set of complex numbers and solving exponential equations using the properties of logarithms. Students work with the fundamental building blocks of trigonometry exploring the unit circle and graphing periodic functions.
The Mathematical Practice Standards apply throughout the course and, together with the content standards, prescribe that students experience mathematics as a coherent, useful, and logical subject that makes use of their ability to make sense of problem situations.
How does CC Algebra II differ from the two previous math courses? CC Geometry - Level of rigor - Expectations Pacing
Study 10-15 minutes a night!
-consider the level of rigor for this course equivalent to an AP course “Advanced Placement CC Algebra II” -students must maintain focus on math as well as other courses
