HOBY MD: Green Report Day 2.5 #GreenTeamRising

Will talk about: Although the amount of waste and recycle increased between today’s breakfast and lunch, this is not bad. We believe that the reason for this increase is that during lunch today, everyone received the same amount of food. Because we all had the same amount of food, waste and recycle will automatically increase. For example, no one got to pick and choose whether or not he wanted a bag of chips. We all received a bag of chips. So this increase is not bad because there is a reason for this increase. In terms of compost, compost decreased because breakfast had more options (bananas, waffles, etc.)

Will talk about: I realize that this graph may seem very confusing with all the lines and increases and decreases. I just want to highlight a few things: Look how far we have come since our first meal together on Thursday night! As of today’s lunch, we decreased from 79 lbs to 24 lbs. How amazing is that?! You guys are amazing. Also, I would like to emphasize again that there are reasons for why there are some increases and decreases within the graph. For example, as you can see, Friday’s lunch has the lowest amounts of waste, recycle, and compost out of all of our three lines. In fact, we had 0 lbs (none) of recycle during Friday’s lunch. This is because we used glass cups instead of plastic cups. So please do not feel bad that we are not staying consistent because like I said, there are reasons.

New Things We Learned Today Saran (plastic) wrap = Trash Empty chip plastic bags = Recycle Potato chips = Compost Paper box = Recycle Napkins (at HOBY) = Compost White napkins = Recycle Cheese = Trash Will talk about: Will basically read this slide word by word to remind the ambassadors of new items that we learned about today during our lunch Keep up the great work guys! You are all OUTSTANDING HOBY ambassadors! Thank you! End of presentation.
