Do Now Get out your notebooks Grab a surface (NOT a laptop) Create a new title “The Columbian Exchange”

Age of Exploration: 1419-1568 AD Europeans explore the world. First world-wide trade network begins. Rapid exchange of ideas and organisms.

The Columbian Exchange The rapid diffusion of organisms during the Age of Exploration Took place from about 1500-1650 AD.

Assignment: Exploring the Columbian Exchange. You will be researching the origin of foods. Choose 1 cuisine group from each: East Eurasia West Eurasia The Americas Select 2 dishes from each and research the origin of each ingredient of that dish. Each dish must have at least 5 ingredients.

Assignment: Exploring the Columbian Exchange part 2 For each region: to what extent was this region’s cuisine affected by the Columbian Exchange? Tasks: Find 2 recipes for dishes from 3 different regions (9 total) Look up origin of each ingredient. Answer question found above for each region.
