This is probably one question that will be on your mind after graduation or maybe even now. First we have to understand that there is no single specific health care administration position. You are in a unique position where your degree has a variety of opportunities for you. Many of these opportunities fall into these categories: UPCOMING DATES Orientation: Thu 4/9/2015 Classes Begin: Wed 5/6/2015 Budgeting Managing Training Compliance Public outreach The job demand is high for medical assistants and pharmacy technicians who incorporate It’s important to note that these categories do not need to be directly health related. That’s the beauty of it! Your skills and education have what we call transferable skills. Do keep in mind that you will be at the forefront of health care working with in many different types of environments such as doctor’s office, long term care, clinics, hospitals, health insurance companies, and pharmaceutical industries. So keep in open mind when you are searching for that dream job! Online Health Care Administration How to dress for a professional interview New health care regulations, technology advances and an aging population have created a booming market for health care administrators. More than 73,000 medical and health service manager positions are expected to be created through 2022, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Responsible for the oversight of medical facilities ranging from large hospitals to rehabilitation centers and nursing homes, health care administrators coordinate care, create schedules, manage finances and work with medical staff. In an online health care administration and management degree program, students will study business and management with a health care slant. While most graduates use the degree to enter health care management, they aren’t limited to that field. The fundamental analytical, communication and technical skills that students develop in the program could be used to work in areas such as human resources in other fields.   Men's Interview Attire Suit (solid color - navy or dark grey) Long sleeve shirt (white or coordinated with the suit) Belt Tie Dark socks, conservative leather shoes Little or no jewelry Neat, professional hairstyle Limit the aftershave Neatly trimmed nails Portfolio or briefcase continued on page 2 Pima Medical Institute, 40 N. I am a mother of two, ages 7 and 2 months. I stay at home with the two months old because daycare is to expensive. This has been a wonderful opportunity for me because I was recently able to get a position within an organization human resources team that allows me to work from home. I truly believe if I was not apart of this program I would not have been considered for this position.” With the online learning, I am able to work at my own pace which is a blessing with a two months who makes her own schedule and my 7 year old son who is in a lot of activities. I like that everything is done online, there are no requirements to come in to a classroom and or even having to sit through seminars at a certain time on a specific day each week. With having children this program was best for me because they provide the due dates of assignments and gave us the options to turn them in early. Advantages of online learning Contact the Program Director Jeffrey Jin, MPH HCA Program Director 40 N Swan Road Suite 100-A Tucson, AZ 85711 Phone: (520) 334-8585 Fax: (520) 202-5831 E-mail: jjin@pmi.edu Interaction Flexibility Team learning is encouraged because online learning focuses on learner-centered instruction. Discussion forums and the sharing of diverse materials increase student inaction in the course. Online students are able to learn and study at their own pace. Students have freedom work on their schedule. “The best way to predict your future is to create it.” – Abraham Lincoln Team Learning Online learning facilitates team learning where individuals can work together online to complete activities.
