A rich and long history Inalco was founded in 1795 Its purpose was to teach a wide range of languages to the French The Inalco remained loyal to its commitment: spread oriental languages knowledge Over the centuries the Inalco has become and institution of unrivalled scope Nowadays it offers one of the richest and most diverse range of language and civilization courses in the world

The institute also organizes a seminar each year for the research master’s programs, taught by faculty from all disciplines and geographical areas.
