What are the International Contest Changes? District Contest Video required Video cannot be edited or redone after the contest Video Sent to TI WHQ Region Contest Video Review One Winner per Region 2 Semi-finals 6 go to the BIG STAGE

Who can be a contestant? Paid member in good standing of a paid club in good standing Maintain Eligibility at all levels May only compete in 1 Area contest in each speech type International Speech Contest – Completed 6 projects in CC manual or 2 levels in Pathways Exception: Charter member of a club chartered less than 1 year (club must have chartered prior to Area Contest

Who cannot be a contestant? International officers, Directors, and Region Advisors District Director, Program Quality Director, Club Growth Director, Public Relations Manager, Finance Manager, Administration Manager, Division Director, Area Director, and certain named candidates Education Presenters at Conference Contest officials

What makes a quality speech contest? Planning Well-trained contest chairs and judges Suitable Location Suitable Time Interesting Speeches

How do you prepare for a quality speech contest? Plan, Plan, Plan and when you think you are done, do some more Planning Schedule your contests soon with the District calendar in mind (Be sure to hold club contests before the Area contest date) Answer questions from members Choose fair and impartial judges Inform Judges, Timers, Ballot Counters of their duties Know and abide by the rules

Who can be a judge? Club Paid Member (of any club – bring in people to help) Invite members from nearby clubs Invite your Area Director
