Number and Algebra and the place of Excel Excel can be used as a tool to stimulate children’s mathematical thinking around number & algebra. By the end of the workshop you will be able to open, name, rename and save Excel spreadsheets colour cell backgrounds and add clip art to make the spreadsheets attractive to primary aged learners format cells add spinners and sliders add a simple macro to hide or reveal cells.

You can…….. use existing examples from the Standards site. adapt existing resources or make your own to meet the needs of your children by….. adding clip art. colour cells to make them more appealing. enlarge the font size so that it can be seen easily. remove tool bars from the top of the page. add spinners, sliders and macros, so that the sheet can be manipulated via the whiteboard and not the PC/laptop
