Presentation transcript:

“Matter Diagram: Show What You Know” Formative Textbook Support: Chapter 7 “Matter Diagram: Show What You Know” I can define the general requirements / characteristics of Matter I can recognized how matter is structured from small to complex with the ideas of elements and atoms I can identify, locate, and characterize the particles that make up an atom I can recognize the significance of size and numbers when it comes to atoms I can define temperature and heat and understand their difference with examples I can define solids, liquids, gases, and plasmas and provide examples I can characterize how particles behave in all states of matter and how this relates to energy I can explain how and why matter changes form with the proper vocabulary I can apply the ideas of shape and volume to the various states of matter 1.0 –Recall and recognize some terminology from 6th and 7th grade. Recognize definitions. 2.0 – Classify substances based on their physical properties and predict the flow of energy by identifying patterns. 3.0 - Draw conclusions through lab and demo observations and construct diagrams to compare examples.
