Information about me 20th year in education (mostly 6th grade) 7th year in PC district Have 1 son who is a senior this year, 3 stepchildren, and 3 granddaughters Love sports, reading, and the lake

Accelerated reader 1st quarter – 3 books (15 points) 2nd-4th quarter – 4 books per quarter (20 points) 100-249 pages = 1 book 250-499 pages = 2 books 500-749 pages = 3 books Daily reading and weekly trips to the library Opportunity to complete one-pagers for books that are not AR

Class routine Bell ringers: spelling, daily oral language, vocabulary, writing prompts, etc. Completion of student planner Reader’s and Writer’s workshop Other things: spelling tests, data notebooks, annotations, and critical thinking with written responses

Homework All homework is expected to be completed on time. As per district policy, homework is 5% of a student’s grade.

Assessments As per district policy, assessments are 95% of a student’s grade. Examples include: unit assessments, spelling tests (every other Thursday), writing projects, data cycle assessments, and vocabulary quizzes No retakes on spelling tests (words are emailed home and students have one week to practice them)
