“Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard.” Mr. Easton’s Fitness News (708) 423-3078 May 1st , 2018 Reaston@ahsd125.org Welcome! Outdoor Soccer Kickball/ Wiffle Ball This unit will include various skill practices and lead-up games. This will be to increase the confidence of the students in the sport of soccer leading to the ultimate goal of being able to play a game of soccer outdoors. The main challenge is the introduction of the out of bounds. This unit will include various skill related activities geared towards kickball or wiffle ball. Skill development will be practiced and the students will learn more and more rules and skills related to baseball, softball, and kickball. This sport is one of the hardest for children to learn with all of the rules. This month is full of fun activities. The children should be encouraged to have fun and be challenged inside and outside of school. Fun Day is coming up on May 18th where the students will be able to participate in many fun and exciting outdoor activities. As the school year is in it’s final months, the students are encouraged to keep trying their best and to not get distracted by the school year ending. The National Hockey League (NHL) playoffs are in full swing and each series is very close and competitive. Please make sure that as the weather changes the students continue to wear appropriate physical activity clothing (Especially on their scheduled gym days)! This will help prevent injuries and allow your student to participate in all activities! ATHLETE SPOTLIGHT The Vegas Golden Knights are in their first season and their second round of playoffs. They have the chance to make history with winning the Stanley cup as an expansion team. They have already broken so many records. They are currently playing the San Jose Sharks and the series is tied and will be decided within the next week or so. Keep an eye on them and your favorite teams to win the Stanley cup! “Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard.” -Tim Notke
