SAT for All Juniors March 7, 2018

The new Redesigned Scholastic Aptitude Assessment (SAT) The new test is more focused on the skills and knowledge at the heart of education. It measures: What you learn in high school What you need to succeed in college

Test & Study Strategies The best way to prepare for the test is to: Take challenging courses. Do your homework. Prepare for tests and quizzes. Ask and answer lots of questions.

SAT When: March 7th, Who: Current Juniors Where: The MAIN gym, enter into the POOL ENTRANCE no later then 7:45 am Why: The SAT is the nation's most widely used admissions test among colleges and universities. It tests students' knowledge of subjects that are necessary for college success: reading, writing, and mathematics, and is used as part of the process for acceptance into a college or university. Earn scholarship money for exceptional scores

What do I need to bring to the SAT? Bring yourself on time! 2 sharpened pencils A calculator for use on the calculator section of math Water bottle Student ID Small snack, but a small snack will be provided Bring as little as possible, bags will be locked up in cages outside of the gym Cell phones will NOT be permitted in the gym

Testing Environment and Electronic Policy When you enter the testing room, be sure to disable any alarms (including your watch alarm, if you have one) and power off all cell phones and other electronic devices School staff are required to collect and hold cell phones and other prohibited electronic devices during the test administration.  Students may not discuss any portion of the test until testing is complete. Test centers are serious about security and quiet, so prohibited devices must be turned off and collected.

Tips for the night before the SAT Set an alarm! Eat a Breakfast! We will have a light breakfast option in the gym lobby Prepare your bag with the things you need the night before ( pencils, calculator, water, snack) Go to bed early, be well rested You WILL NOT be allowed to have a cell phone on your person, it must be turned off and in your bag
