Adopt the Leadership Formula The Leadership Strategic Model

A Formula for Personal Growth The Leadership Formula is a guide for increasing your leadership potential. The Formula was derived and synthesized from interviews with numerous successful leaders in business, education, sports, religion, youth organizations, politics, and community groups.

Leadership Leadership is based on the ability to Empower Followers in five critical areas: Visionary Mission Decisive Decision Making Mutual Reward Theory Effective Communication Power of Influence Leadership involves maximizing each.

Positive Force (Attitude) Positive force is the self-igniting spark that extends energy to the other five factors and results in Empowered Followers. All elements of the Leadership Formula are interrelated, interlocked, and interdependent.

Leadership Elements Visionary Mission – the ability to see the big picture and to formulate a plan of action to reach a lofty goal. Decisive Decision Making – the ability to delegate effectively and make good, timely decisions. Mutual Reward Theory – the ability to enhance relationships based on rewards for all people.

Leadership Elements con’t Effective Communication – the ability to convey meaning – through verbal, writing, speaking, and non-verbal actions – for understanding. (Make Meaning) Power of Influence – the ability to persuade others toward desired actions. Positive Force – the ability to motivate & stimulate others to take action.

Leadership Elements are Interrelated Without effective communications it is impossible to create and promote a visionary mission, or to make decisive decisions. All elements are part of the mutual reward theory and the ability to influence others in positive ways.

Benefits The Leadership Formula will accommodate different management styles. The Leadership Formula can help discover the right blend of management and leadership. The Leadership Formula can benefit experienced leaders as well as novices.

Should leaders train leaders? In my opinion, leaders should encourage members of their team to develop their leadership potential. Most people possess a combination of traits & skills which make leadership possible. The LSM is a practical road map designed to help people weave more leadership elements into their styles.

Leadership is Leadership If you learn the essentials of leadership in one situation you can take them with you into another environment The real basics are the same. Only minor adjustments – or major ones – must be made to fit the new situation. Above all become an effective communicator. That is step one.
