Staff Situation The LSB has seen growth of over 50% in the last Three years, as 24 new employees during the first quarter of 2016. Now totaling over 877 people operating within the NSS, in order to ensure everyone contribution the overall statistical system and meet the national and international demand, it is highly required to strengthen staff skill and capacity in practical and professional expertise.

Development Plan Strategy for the Sustainable Development of the National Statistical System (SSDNSS) 2016-2025 and Vision by 2030 (WP 14: Upgrade knowledge, competences and skills of statisticians to enable them to move forward to becoming experts with experiences and skills comparable to international standards) Human Resources Strategy and Implementation Plan Incorporating Training plan, including management and coordination training 2016-2020

Training Needs Topics: (Base on HR Strategy) Statistical skills (basic/advanced/applied analytical skill) Survey specific, technical statistical and process management skills (prices, social statistics and economic statistics, as well as the Generic Statistical Business Process Model [GSBPM]) Methodological skill (questionnaire design, data collection methodology, business register) Extensive range of ICT and digital skills (from database management and network administration to security and dissemination) Leadership and management skills (including understanding psychology and how to influence employees and build high performing teams) Project Management skills (project planning, risk management) Dissemination skills (web design / writing for the internet) English language skills (verbal and written) Written communication (report writing) Oral communication (influencing and managing stakeholders; working collaboratively) Other professional and competency based skills – human resources, organization development, finance, procurement, creativity and problem solving

Other Issues To Achieve the SSDNSS 2016-2025 and Vision by 2030 Implementing the priority of Human Resources Strategy and Training plan (e.g. SNA (GNI as Current Account and Balance Sheet), Price (PPI)) while national shortage of resources.
