Define/Identify the following: BOSTON MASSACRE— BOSTON TEA PARTY—

Boston Massacre - Encounter between British troops and a group of citizens protesting the Townshend Acts. British troops fired into the crowd, killing five citizens. Boston Tea Party - December 16, 1773-protest of British tax on tea imported to the colonies.

Define/Identify the following: Committee of Correspondence-- Common Sense--

Common Sense-- Pamphlet written by Thomas Paine which argued it was foolish for the colonies to be governed by a country so far away and that the colonies should have self-rule. Committee of Correspondence-- An organization that used meetings, letters, and pamphlets to spread political ideas through the colonies.

Define/Identify the following: Unalienable Rights-- Proclamation of 1763--

Unalienable Rights-- Basic rights that cannot be taken away from the people such as “life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness.” These rights are in the Declaration of Independence. Proclamation of 1763-- Following the end of the French & Indian War, King George III of Britain forbid all settlement past a line drawn along the Appalachian Mountains
