Is your world broken? Breaking? Nehemiah led a team in such an incredible way that they were able to rebuild the wall of Jerusalem in 52 days. Mark Gottlieb, his son, Kevin, and I have been leading the Discover the Word community on that topic the past 5 weeks. Jesus was acquainted with sorrow; I suspect that we too are acquainted with brokenness.

Table talk #1 Chip said to ask ‘why’ briefly is normal but to stay there is lethal. How can it be lethal to stay focused on ‘why?’ Have you ever been “stuck” on the ‘why’ and how did you manage to get “unstuck?” What does the Bible have to say about this?

Table talk #2 Share a negative experience in your past that has had positive results in your life. Is there an area in your life right now that you see as an external trial or “world breaker?” (Only share if you feel comfortable)

Wrap Up & Looking ahead Jesus taught as does the Bible that we will face trials (external pressures, unpleasant people, difficult circumstances. James 1:2-4 We can’t control our circumstances but we can control our attitudes by the power of God. Phil. 4:13
