A FEW FACTORS THAT CONTRIBUTE TO POVERTY You need to expand on this information. This should be a large component of your project, not just one short slide. Some causes of poverty are changing trends in a countries economy, lack of education, high divorce rate, having a culture of poverty, over population, epidemic diseases such as AIDS AND MALARIA

Poverty: Economy Poverty rates are related to the overall health of the economy. As the economy increases, more jobs and higher income become available which in return helps families that are suffering from poverty. This Photo by Unknown Author is licensed under CC BY- SA

Poverty: Lack of Education According to the 2011 U.S. Census Bureau, a family of 4 earns less than $23,021 More than 30 million children are growing up in poverty In 2011, nearly 46.2 million Americans were living in poverty Children living in poverty have a higher number of absenteeism or drop out of school to go to work to help care for their families Dropout rates of 16-24 year old students who came from poverty stricken families are higher than the families who are not dealing with poverty This Photo by Unknown Author is licensed under CC BY-NC Poverty: Lack of Education

More couples that come to a conclusion that they need a divorce, are opting for a long separation due to the high cost of divorce Studies from Ohio State University show that unemployed men are faced with divorce by their wives Children of divorce are mostly living with their mothers in poverty The University of Missouri conducted a study in 2011, suggested that couples that receive governmental assistance are more likely to face divorce at some point The state with the highest divorce rate are also the poorest state This Photo by Unknown Author is licensed under CC BY-SA Poverty and Divorce

Culture of Poverty The U.S. has struggled with poverty for decades Culture of poverty prevents the poor from economic betterment despite social programs designed to assist them Oscar Lewis believes that children growing up in poor families would learn to adapt to the values that started poverty This Photo by Unknown Author is licensed under CC BY-NC Culture of Poverty

Poverty: Overpopulation Bill gates states the key thing you can do to reduce population growth is actually USAID states poverty and lack of access to education leads to higher birthrates and overpopulation According to the Population Institute, The UN projects the population of the 48 poorest countries in the world will double from 850 million to 1.7 billion in 2050 This Photo by Unknown Author is licensed under CC BY-SA Poverty: Overpopulation

Poverty: Epidemic Diseases Poverty and disease are stuck in an ongoing relationship More than 40 billion are infected with HIV/AIDS and studies think that this epidemic is related to poverty areas Malaria holds account of 1 million deaths in counting and is connected to the world’s poorest regions This Photo by Unknown Author is licensed under CC BY-SA Poverty: Epidemic Diseases

Start a drive to help the homeless There are many ways we can help stop homelessness. I think we can start with reaching out to the homeless. We can start a drive to feed and clothe the homeless and even refer some of them to shelters that can help even further. This Photo by Unknown Author is licensed under CC BY-NC-ND
