On pg. 542 complete “What would you Do?”. It should be at least 2 paragraphs on a separate sheet of paper. 7. Complete “Quiz” worksheets for Lessons 56, 57, 59, 60. Put all answers on your OWN paper. 13. Visit www.drivingskillsforlife.com. Click on “The Academy” tab, complete the Training Modules, take the Quiz and print the certificate to hand in. 19. Complete the “Vocabulary Practice” and/or “Quiz” worksheets for Lessons 44, 45, 48, 49. 25. Complete the Lesson 19 Study Guide, questions 1-18, on pg. 225. 31. Answer questions to the “5- Minute Check” worksheet, on your OWN paper. 10. Complete the “Reading Strategy” and 5-Minute Check” worksheets for Lesson 58. Use Lesson 58 in your book. 16. Complete Lesson 64 Study Guide, questions 1- 18 on pg. 669. 22. Discuss your family history of cardiovascular disease with your family. Complete the “CVD: What’s my Family History?” worksheet. 28. Complete the “Lesson 19 Crossword puzzle” that covers vocabulary words from the whole lesson, pgs. 208- 224. 34. Find 2 news articles that involve 2 different crimes/accidents. Write one page SS explaining how the perpetrators’ decision making and behaviors led to the crime, who that has affected and how. 5. Watch your favorite prime-time show. Write a brief description, mention any use of profanity, sexual content, violence, smoking, alcohol or drug use. Suggest a TV rating if one is not available. If one is provided, do you agree with it? Min. 3 paragraphs. (see pgs. 558- 559) 11. Research the recycling program in your neighborhood. Is it county or city-run? What can be recycled? What requirements are there? When is it picked up? Provide the source of your information and any other details regarding the program. 17. Read pgs. 676- 677. Write 1 pg. single spaced. Define bullying, explain how a person can handle bullying, and discuss whether you think bullying is a problem at Ridge View and why/why not. 23. Read the article, “What is flu?...” and create a 15-20 question worksheet and answer key based on the information. (Can include matching, multiple choice, or true/false.) 29. Color the diagram on the “Endocrine System” worksheet. On the back, include the following: What is the function of this system? For each gland, list the hormones it secretes and their functions. 35. Create a game called “Who am I?”. Using Lesson 54, write 3 clues about each of the different health careers that would help the class guess that career. Write an objective for the game, rules, materials needed, and answers to clues. 6. Write a letter to a fictitious friend who smokes, explaining to them that your are learning about smoking in health. Express your concern for your friend’s health and explain the benefits of quitting smoking. (At least ¾ pg. single spaced) 12. Vividly describe your favorite part of nature. (a season, a type of weather, the mountains, the ocean, etc.) Explain why you enjoy it, and discuss specific ways to help protect it. ( At least 1 pg. single spaced) 18. Lesson 67 discusses the issue of gangs. Create a poster that lists 50 things to do instead of join a gang. (Be creative and artistic, it should be visually appealing) 24. Interview someone who has or has had cancer. Use the “Living with Cancer” worksheet. 30. Using Lesson 19. choose one body system and create a song, rap, or limerick that teaches the class about that body system. You must include at least 5 vocabulary words. 36. Read the article, “What are Developmental Assets?” and the list of 40 Assets on the back. Write a 1 pg. response discussing at least 5 assets you feel you have and 5 assets you feel you need to improve on and how.
