Presentation transcript:

Camp Planning Guidelines The booklet will become an easy-to-use, illustrated step-by-step guide to camp planning The Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM) cluster and the Emergency Shelter (ES) cluster have both expressed interest in the project Earlier draft is available at ww.sheltercentre.org/projects

Camp Planning Guidelines Developed from the recommendations on camp planning offered in 'Transitional Settlement: Displaced Populations' (Corsellis & Vitale, 2005) It will be developed for both specialists and non specialists, as well as local governmental bodies concerned with camp planning. The booklet will consider: Kenya, 2008 Photo from www.irin.org both conflict and natural disaster responses primarily self-settled and also planned camps

Camp Planning Guidelines Other complimentary initiatives happening concurrently: ‘Camp Management Toolkit’ Norwegian Refugee Council/The Camp Management Project ‘Closure and phase-out of camps and settlements for displaced people’ CCCM, CARE International and ProAct Network A meeting has been held to coordinate Camp Planning Guidelines with these publications

Camp Planning Guidelines Put the feedback forms in the box, or return them to a volunteer! or Would you like to join the working group? What further content should be included? Other considerations?
