Valentine’s Day Danielsen
February 14th – Valentine’s DAY A day to celebrate love – especially romantic The holiday's roots are in the ancient Roman festival of Lupercalia, a fertility celebration commemorated annually on February 15. Pope Gelasius I recast this pagan festival as a Christian feast day circa 496, declaring February 14 to be St. Valentine's Day. Named after Saint Valentine, a Christian martyr that was imprisoned by the Roman Emperor and fell in love with the Jailer’s daughter. Before he was executed, he sent her a note that Was signed “from your Valentine.”
