BLIZZARD BAGS: Nice job everyone for returning your blizzard bags! If you haven’t return them, please do so on Monday or ASAP. If the yellow Choice paper(s) is/are not signed and returned, your child will be marked absent for those three days. Elementary Dress Up Days are as follows: Monday, February 4: Pajama Day – must be able to participate in PE Tuesday, February 5: Jersey Day Wednesday, February 6: USA Day Thursday, February 7: Denim Day Friday, February 8: School Spirit Day FEBRUARY READING CHALLENGE: The elementary classes are split up into 2 teams (TEAM THING 1 and TEAM THING 2). Each member of the winning team will earn a free book from the book order ($5 value)! The Accelerated Reader program will keep track of the words read. Second graders will be able to read any book with in their reading range. They may also take 2 AR test a day. VALENTINE’S BOX: The second graders are asked to decorate their own Valentine’s box at home and bring it to school by Monday, February 11. A shoe box, ice cream pail, or cereal box works well. One may cover the container with wrapping paper, white paper, or aluminum foil. They may also want to cut out hearts, use stickers, or doilies to decorate it. The child’s name should be visible. The hole for their ‘mail’ must be big enough for candy to fit through. This is a good project to do on a weekend or a snow day. VALENTINIE’S PARTY: The party is Thursday, Feb. 14 from 1-3. Any parent that would like to plan a game or two, donate food, or prize bags please let your classroom teacher know.
