RESEARCH OBJECTIVES: What are the causes and effects of early marriage in Garowe District? RESEARCH METHODOLOGY: The study conducted one FGD consisting of seven participants and five KII sessions consisting of fifteen research participants

RESEARCH FINDINGS: Causes: cultural and traditional beliefs, poverty, peer pressure, social media influences, failing in school, financial distress, separation of parents, and social perception are the common causes of early marriage in Garowe District. Effects: suffering psychologically, emotionally and physically including maternal complications and mental stress due to the overload of house responsibilities, early pregnancy and childbearing
