Goals and Course Description: English IV 2018-19 Mrs. Pasewark Goals and Course Description: Hello Senior, I’m so excited you are in my class! In this class, we will learn together, create together, write together, and grow together. By studying timeless world literature works as well as modern pairings, we will gain a better world view understanding of the literature that has helped shape Western culture. This class is designed to prepare you to perform effectively at the freshman level of college or the career of your choice. This includes a review of language skills together with a study of British literature. Writing includes analytical prose, creative essay, and research reports. Independent work habits are stressed in preparing daily assignments which are expected to demonstrate a sophisticated knowledge of vocabulary syntax and mechanics. All of the lessons in this class will align with Texas State Standards which can be found here: My classroom extension: 1417 Email: hpasewark@frenship.us Conference Periods: Blue: 3rd Gold: 8th “A” lunch 90-100% A 80-89% B 70-79% C 0-70 F Essays, tests, and major projects, etc. Daily work, quizzes, homework, etc. Devices will be taken and given to the office, per school policy. Please put them in the phone holder. Please respect yourself and others by not plagiarizing or cheating. Using another’s work as one’s own, whether intentional or unintentional, will not be tolerated in any fashion. Academic integrity is of the utmost importance in this course and at Frenship High School.. All assignments and projects are collected at the beginning of class on the due date. If an assignment is not turned in on time, then you will have five days to complete the work. If you fall behind, you will be placed into mandatory tutoring. Lastly, disrespect to myself or other students will not be tolerated.
