C. C. Washington Academy 2018-2019 Title I Annual Meeting C. C. Washington Academy 2018-2019

What is Title I? Title I, Part A is a federal program that provides funds to assist schools with high percentages of students from low-income families to help ensure that all children meet challenging state academic standards.

CC Washington is a Title I school and received $62,040 for the 18-19 school year.

How did we decide to use these funds? We analyzed our latest academic, discipline, and attendance data. We determined the areas of greatest need. We looked for barriers that prevented our students from making the achievement they needed. We developed the following strategies:

Area of Focus 1: Vocabulary Use & Acquisition Expenditures: Instructional supplies, parent liaison, ECTAC conference Area of Focus 2: Credit Recovery Expenditures: Summer credit recovery program, transportation for summer program, paraprofessionals Area of Focus 3: Discipline Expenditures: Willie Spears, Panorama license, teacher training

Goals and Outcomes for 17-18 Goal:  Increase the number of credits recovered from 187 credits to 191 (2%) Outcome:  Not achieved because less credits were needed to be recovered!   Goal: 25% of our tested student population will make a minimum of 5 point gain on the math and reading FSA. Outcome:  Achieved in both math and reading!!!

Goals for 18-19 1. Increase growth of 3% in the area of Vocabulary Use and Acquisition on the 2019 FSA. 2. Increase the amount of recovered credits from the 2018-2019 school year by 2%. 3. Reduce discipline referrals by 10%.

We need your help to reach our 18-19 goals!!!

PBIS Rewards at CC Washington. What is PBIS? PBIS is a Positive Behavior Support System. We reward our students for making positive behavior and social choices. Student are accountable for their behavior and rewarded for making good choices.

Students were issued badges today and they need to keep up with these badges. At the end of the week the student can shop at the school store with these points.
