What is Aktion Club? Aktion Club is the ONLY service club for adults with disabilities, with more than 12,000 members worldwide, Aktion Club is supported at the district level and provides programs, literature and opportunities to relate to individuals with disabilities from countries worldwide.
About Aktion Club Motto: “Where development has no disability.” Vision: To develop competent, capable, caring leaders through the vehicle of service. Mission: To provide adults living with disabilities an opportunity to develop initiative, leadership skills and to serve their communities.
Why was Aktion Club Created? George D. “Jake” Swartout, 1988-1989 Governor of Kiwanis International's Florida District, organized the FIRST Aktion Club for adults who live with a disability in Putnam County, Florida, in 1987. Aktion Club became an official Service Leadership Program of Kiwanis International on October 1, 2000.
Sponsoring Did you know a Key Club can sponsor an Aktion Club?? All you have to do is fill out the necessary paperwork found on the Kiwanis International Website Your club also must follow through on all its responsibility to the Aktion Club

Sponsoring comes with a GREAT responsibility Some responsibilities include: - Assisting with training of officers - Participate in joint service projects - Participate in joint fundraisers - Attend Aktion Club meetings In order for both the Key Club and Aktion Club to have a working Sponsorship, both clubs must do their part Following through on your sponsorship responsibilities is KEY for a successful relationship with your Aktion Club
