Do now: Take out your module 6 packet. What are some things that you notice, what are some things that you wonder?

I will be able to: use the statistical data I collected So that I can: analyze and summarize the data I will show that I understood it by summarizing the numerical data with my group by completing my numerical summary sheet with 100% accuracy. 6.SP. A.4 6.SP. A.5

Developing a Statistical Project (As a reminder) Over the next few days, you will be working in a small group to apply the skills you have learned from statistics to create and implement your own statistical project. Your group will: Create a statistical question. Determine a data collection tool. Gather the data using the collection tool from at least 50 students. Organize the data you have collected and graph the data in at least 2 different ways. Utilize the graphs to answer your statistical question. Create a visual (poster) that includes your statistical question, graphs, measures of center and variability (mean, median, mode, MAD, range) Prepare a presentation

Collecting the Data You should have collected the remaining part of your data from the other class and now you will start to organize it. You need to make sure you have surveyed roughly 40-50 students. Organizing our data includes: the numerical summaries as well as the graphic summaries. (you will start a rough draft of finding the mean, median, mode, range, MAD, IQR, etc.)

Begin to describe the shape of the graph (approximately symmetric, right/left skewed).

Translating the Data You should have collected the remaining part of your data from the other class and now you will start to graph it. Graphing our data includes: choosing 2 out of the 3 graphical displays and completing them: histogram, dot plot and/or box and whisker plot.

How do you feel? topic.
