As a table group you will use the molecular diagrams in your “lunch bag” to create a healthy plate, with all of the macromolecules your body needs to function! Think back to the “Top Ten Tips” article Materials Needed: Notes from Pages 24-25 (IF NEEDED) Glue Sticks Colored Pencils Page 26 Volume Level: 2 (LOW VOLUME)

Group Practice: Page 26 Let’s Make Lunch! Select at least one of each carbon based molecule that need to be in a balanced healthy diet. Create a color key to indicate which molecule is which You can put this key on the back of your plate Be sure to color each molecule according to your key Glue your colored macromolecules to your group plate. Once you have created your healthy plate each member of the table group will answer the following questions on Page 26. Work together! How did you identify each macromolecule based on it’s structure? (Think elements, shape, ect…) Is your plate comprised of monomers or polymers? EXPLAIN Why is each of the items on your plate required for a healthy diet? Group Practice: Page 26 Let’s Make Lunch!
