Public Speaking Contest Liverpool Final The Liverpool Final of the Soroptomist International Public Speaking Contest was held on 11 th January. Chelsea Sanderson and Teri Duffy, both from 9H1, represented the school at this prestigious event. Chelsea Sanderson & Teri Duffy

Public Speaking Contest Liverpool Final There were 9 candidates in the Liverpool Final from Broughton Hall, St. Edwards, St. Francis Xavier, St. Margarets and Cardinal Heenan. Chelsea and Teri both chose the emotive set topic Do Animals Have Rights? for their 3 minute speech.

Public Speaking Contest Liverpool Final Both girls spoke extremely well and the Judges were very impressed with the high standard of their speech and presentation. Chelsea Sanderson was a runner up and Teri Duffy won the Liverpool Final. The event was reported on Maureen Walshs BBC Radio Merseyside show and in the Merseymart. The Liverpool Finalists

Public Speaking Contest Mr. Murphy presented Teri and Chelsea with pens and vouchers in recognition of their tremendous achievement. Teri Duffy would go on to represent Liverpool at the Regional Finals to be held on Saturday, 26 th January. Mr. Murphy with Chelsea and Teri.

Public Speaking Contest Regional Final Teri Duffy went on to represent Liverpool in the Regional Final of the Public Speaking Contest. The contest was held on Saturday, 26 th January, at St. Julies School, Woolton. There was a panel of three judges who scored the candidates on their: - appearance - delivery - oral skills, and - content.

Public Speaking Contest Regional Final Teri Duffy gave another excellent presentation in the Regional Final. The Judges said that they had been unanimous in their decision and that Teri was the overall, and well-deserved, winner. Miss Margaret Emsley, S.I.G.B.I. Federation Director Technical and Advisory, presents Teri with her prizes.

Public Speaking Contest Regional Final In recognition of this amazing achievement, Teri was awarded £100 cash and a personal plaque. She was also presented with a trophy to be retained by the school for a year. Well done Teri! The Regional Finalists – Teri Duffy holds her trophy!
