Power Point 101 Meet the Teacher Presentation Adding Pictures or Clipart Add at least 1 picture to each slide. Insert Picture (locate file) Insert Clipart (search through images) Some images might need to be resized- you must select the image before you can resize it. If you see circles on the corners and squares on its sides then it is selected. Use the circles to resize the entire image and keep the aspect ratio (proportions). Use the square to adjust only that side. To move your images you must select the image and your cursor must change into a four arrow pointer then simply click and drag. How to: Click Insert Ribbon and select the type of illustration you would like to insert under the Illustrations Section. 4
Power Point 101 Meet the Teacher Presentation Modifying Your Slides- Adding aText Box Insert at least one text box anywhere on your presentation You know that you are ready to draw a text box when you cursor has turned into a small upside down t. You can click anywhere on you slide to activate the cursor or click and draw the textbox to get an exact size. How to: Click on the Insert Ribbon, under the Text Section click on text box 5
Power Point 101 Meet the Teacher Presentation Modifying Your Slides- Adding Word Art Add 1 Word art graphic anywhere on the presentation When you insert word art a popup window will appear. Select the type of Word Atr you desire and type the text that you want to appear in the Word art then press ok. At this point you may also change the font and color of your Word Art by selecting the Word Art and selecting the Format Ribbon which appears once you have the Word Art on your presentation. To resize the Word art use the same steps as in the resizing of an image. How to: Click on Insert and select Word Art under the Text Section 6
Power Point 101 Meet the Teacher Presentation Adding Movies and/or Sounds Add a music or movie file to your welcome slide When you insert a sound file you will have to choose whether you want it to begin automatically or when clicked – make selection and then ok. A small speaker icon will appear if you do not want it displayed simply move it off of the slide canvas and music will still play. How to: Under the Insert Ribbon select Sound under the Media Clips Section. 7
