Who is Mrs. Miner? GCU-BA in Education/Emphasis in Math, K-8 Teaching Certificate Working towards a Masters in Teaching/Education Counseling 6 years teaching experience- both middle school and elementary 4th/5th grades 2nd year at MMS I love teaching math! I have two daughters, one in preschool and one in 7th grade and a son in 9th grade

Curriculum CMP 3 (Connected Mathematics Program 3) Supports CCSS We will do all 8 units in order (not all lessons) Plus 2 units from the CMP3- 8th grade curriculum First Unit: Shapes & Designs!

Grading Policies NO Extra Credit! 75% of Grade - Assessments 10 Units Unit Tests – Retakes available Take the higher score Occasional bonus points on tests Quizzes – 1 or 2 per unit –Open notes

Grading Policies 25% of Grade- Assignments Learning Checks – short, individual Some Warm Ups, Exit Tickets, Class work Partner Quizzes - used for reviewing concepts in a cooperative group setting HW will NOT be graded It is the expectation that students do the assigned homework in their math journal each night, self-correct from my website with red pen, and fill in the Learning Log
