North Bullitt Raider Team Spring 2019

Team Captain: Dakota James

Expectations Compete at a high level Work hard and maximize time during practice. Work collectively as a TEAM and support each member of the team. Leave all EGOs at the door. Not everyone may compete in the upcoming meets / we will maximize participation Represent the school, the JROTC program and the community with pride and honor/Be professionals at all times! Academics must remain a priority. Students will be placed on academic suspension if they are failing two classes. Grades will be pulled every Friday for academic eligibility.

Attendance Policy Unexcused absences equates to suspension / and or removal from competition team If you are not at practice, we can not prepare you for the upcoming Raider competitions. Emergency situations: Hospitalizations/Family Emergencies/Family Vacations, illness, etc... parents can email COL Wilson @ todd.wilson@bullitt.kyschools.us Practice begins at 5:30 AM - if a Raider isn’t in the gym by 5:45, they are considered absent.

Academic Policy Cannot be failing two classes, or the student will be placed on academic suspension until grades improve. Grades will be pulled on Friday of each week. Students cannot attend practice until grades improve.

Practice schedule Schedule will be posted on the North Bullitt JROTC web page. NBHS/Campus Life/JROTC/Raider Team We will not practice during Spring Break. Initial Practice Schedule & Focus Week 1: Practice deconflicted with Drill Team *25 FEB: Swiss Seat Instruction *1 MAR: One Rope Bridge Orientation Week 2: 11-15 MAR - Daily Practice *Establish Teams *Designate one rope bridge duties and responsibilities *Friday JROTC PT session -- Raider participants conduct 1 mile timed run, 1 minute of push up / sit up and pull up max Week 3: 18-22 MAR - Daily Practice *Timed one rope bridge *Deliberate competition preparation

Physical Conditioning Raider Cadets must conduct structured individual training plans All Raider Cadets must strive to: -Run 1 mile in less than _7:30_ -Be capable of doing _8 (men) 2 (women)_ pull ups -Performing _40 (men) 25 (women)_ push ups in 60 seconds -Performing _55 (men) 50 (women)_ sit ups in 60 seconds Individual training logs will be published to support “SMART” goals for muscular strength, cardiovascular, and endurance components of physical conditioning. *Precision, progression, and integration are keys to success

Official Notification/Emergency Situations: If weather causes us to cancel practice or a Raider meet a one call message will be sent out. The message will be sent out prior to 8 PM. The official message will also be posted on the JROTC official’s Facebook page as well @ Bcps-Nbhs-JROTC

Raider Meets 23 MAR 19: Clay County 20 APR 19: Morehead University 2019 / 2020 Raider Meets / Program: *To be announced / summer Raider physical conditioning program *Fall Raider -- 3 Competitions *Spring Raider -- 3 Competitions *NBHS will host a Raider Meet *Drill and Raider competitions / schedules will be deconflicted and mutually supportive

Other Discussion Points We will maximize all students’ ability to attend & participate in upcoming Raider meets Parental packets MUST be completed before any students may practice / complete “Fuel the machine” - nutrition and hydration are key to success Confirm all roster data prior to leaving the orientation meeting

Why do we “Raider Up”? To promote teamwork & cohesion within the Eagle Battalion Foster individual / team goal setting and self discipline Positively represent our school & community
