Response Rubric 1. Thanks 2. Clarify 3. Expand, compare, react 4. New information 5. Question I find this rubric to be both simple and highly valuable to teach students how to craft responses to various posts. The purpose is to get students to stimulate and engage in deeper discussions. We are so used to just “liking” a post, or give a few word reaction, that it takes a little while to get used to the switch. But once students do, it makes a big difference. Not every response needs to include all five elements, but the more of the elements included, generally the better the discussions over time.
